Virginia Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy

A Strategy for Wildlife...

One of the most significant projects of our time is underway, and it will determine the future of wildlife in Virginia.

Marsh with EgretsThe Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has been tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy for managing wildlife in Virginia. In fact, all states must complete such a strategy by October of 2005. This is a requirement of the State Wildlife Grants Program (visit teaming.com for more information about these grants). This is an exciting opportunity and a daunting challenge. But we are well on our way to achieving it. The Department uses State Wildlife Grant funding for a variety of essential conservation projects, including the development of this strategy.
